Why Microsoft had to move away from Windows mobile?

Window 8.1 is being rearranged to look like windows 7 than windows 8. Microsoft appears to be backing down its push to the Tablet interface across its desktop operating system. Even after its slow start, a roll back was never an option with Window 7. Microsoft push too much of change quickly. Microsoft updates YouTube app for window phone apparently surrenders to Google as web player returns.
