Sneaky redirects are typically someone trying to outsmart. I think probably a bad idea.
I would say Avoid sneaky redirects.

Why am I making this redirect?

If you are making a redirect because you are guiding your visitors to the correct information then you are probably fine. If you are redirecting users from your old dog page to your new dog page, then you are not being sneaky. If you are redirecting users from your old dog page to your cat page, then you are being sneaky. The reason you are being sneaky is because someone who is on your dog page is looking for a dog page, not a cat page.

Sneaky redirection typically refers to a deceptive practice employed in various contexts such as web browsing or online advertising. In the context of web browsing, it often involves a website redirecting a user to a different page without their explicit consent or knowledge, often for malicious purposes such as phishing or driving traffic to certain websites for profit.

This can happen in several ways:
      1. Hidden Links: Links may be disguised or hidden within a webpage, so when a user clicks seemingly innocuous content, they are redirected to a different, potentially harmful website.
      2. Malicious Scripts: Websites can use scripts to automatically redirect users to other pages without their consent, often exploiting vulnerabilities in web browsers or plugins.
      3. Cloaking: This technique involves showing different content to search engine crawlers than what is shown to users. So, when a user clicks on a search result, they are redirected to a different page than what was displayed in the search results.
      4. Phishing: Redirecting users to fake login pages or other deceptive websites to steal personal information such as p***words or credit card details.

Sneaky redirection is generally considered unethical and may violate various laws and regulations, particularly regarding user privacy and online security. Web browsers and security software often employ measures to detect and prevent such redirects to protect users from malicious activities.
