    How do blog signature links work?

    Hello,
    I've read in a number of places that our signatures, if including a link to our website, will count as an external link for SE ranking purposes. I have a blog (www.livejournal.com/users/mariliacoutinho) and I sign every post with a signature containing a link to one of my sites. However, when I do an external link search at Alexa or whatever, they don't show up. I have two other external links as well which do not show.
    Can somebody tell me how this works?

      You link in signature at http://www.livejournal.com/users/mariliacoutinho/ is an outbound link for livejournal I have checked the source code. In blog if you will include signature in comment they will not be crawled by search engine as there is nofollow tag

          Then the blog is worthless, concerning backlinks? Of course, I need the blog for other purposes, but I will stop signing the posts with links...
