Research has found that more than one in 10 children in the UK has been bullied on social media. In a survey of eight to 16-year-olds, 11% reported that they had been the victims of cyber bullying on network sites.Nearly half of parents (48%) surveyed said they do not discuss the risk of social networking with their children, with almost two in three of those attributing this to the belief that their child has more knowledge of the area than them. The explosion in popularity of social media sites has seen intense scrutiny fall on the issue of online bullying.
