I often see meta tags written on almost every site but i do not know what does it mean. Is it that word which helps us to search something, because according to definition of meta tags "Meta tags are one piece in a large algorithmic puzzle that major search engines look at when deciding which results are relevant to show users who have typed in a search query.
So what i mean to say all about is meta tags are written in the source code, are they words or sentence because when we search in the search engine, it shows only words right down of the links sometime there is sentence. Actually i am confused about meta tags.
Somebody please tell me what it is exactly?
