Cloud hosting? Lets understand this concept by taking an example.

what better example can someone give other than Google itself? The king of search engines has got its resources spread over hundreds of servers on the cloud, no wonder you've never seen Google.com facing any downtimes over past decade or so. I don't remember seeing it down.

each server in the cloud helps in carrying out a particular set of tasks, and in case of failure of any of the servers in the cloud, other servers temporarily kick-in as a back-up to render the required resources.

Cloud hosting is based on the most innovative Cloud computing technologies that allow unlimited number of machines to act as one system. Other hosting solutions depend on one machine only.the cloud technology allows easy integration of extra resources, such as space or RAM and thus enable website growth.

Cloud hosting services provide hosting for websites on virtual servers which pull their computing resource from extensive underlying networks of physical web servers.

Cloud computing refers to the on-demand availability of computer system resources, particularly data storage and computational power, without the user having to manage them directly. Functions in large clouds are frequently dispersed across numerous locations, each of which is a data centre.
A web hosting service is a sort of Internet hosting service that hosts websites for customers, i.e., it provides the tools needed to construct and manage a website and makes it available on the Internet. Web hosts refer to companies that provide web hosting services.

Cloud hosting is a type of web hosting service that utilizes virtual servers to host websites and applications. Instead of relying on a single physical server, cloud hosting uses a network of interconnected virtual servers that work together to provide resources and deliver content to users.

In cloud hosting, resources such as processing power, storage, and memory are distributed across multiple servers. This setup offers several advantages:
                        1. Scalability: Cloud hosting allows users to easily scale their resources up or down based on their needs. They can add or remove resources such as CPU, RAM, and storage capacity without experiencing downtime.
                        2. Reliability: Since cloud hosting relies on a network of servers, it provides high levels of reliability and uptime. If one server fails, the workload can be automatically shifted to another server to ensure continuous operation.
                        3. Performance: Cloud hosting often offers better performance than traditional hosting solutions because resources can be dynamically allocated to meet demand. This means that websites and applications hosted in the cloud can handle spikes in traffic more effectively.
                        4. Cost-effectiveness: Cloud hosting typically follows a pay-as-you-go pricing model, where users only pay for the resources they use. This can be more cost-effective than traditional hosting solutions, where users often have to pay for a set amount of resources regardless of whether they use them all.
